So what is it?

Pistol training can get boring! What is a standard bulls eye target teaching you beyond accuracy? The best way to make your training count is to combine several different factors into one drill. One of these is hand movement mixed with re-acquiring your sites. Another is body movement, just a simple side step or twist can change everything.

The Pistol Training Declassified program was developed to be a simple, easy to follow training solution for use at home or at the range. As you go through this guide, you will be engaging with multiple targets at once and learning to identify your target before you pull the trigger. As you move through the various drills, they become increasingly complex and challenging. If you would like to create more pressure during your training, add a shot timer to the mix. You also have the ability to change or modify any of the drills for your skill level or your range rules. Our program is flexible and can be adjusted to fit your skillset. One key lesson is that if you’re not hitting your target, move it closer. Once your consistency improves push the target back.

How will it help?

  • Gain confidence in handling firearms

  • Learn to move and shoot

  • Learn to engage multiple targets

  • Increasing reaction speed

  • Build proficiency

  • Build situational awareness

  • Makes range time productive and fun

How to use it

The Pistol Training Declassified program was designed to use at your favorite range with live fire, but it can also be used at home with a pellet or BB pistol. If completing all of the drills, expect to need about 200 rounds. I take 50-100 rounds to the range. After the ammo is gone, I mark the drill I'm on and bring the target home with me. Next time I go to the range, I take the used target and continue on. Remember to follow all of your range rules at all times.

A .177 caliber or BB Co2 powered pistol is a very cost effective way to train. Set up a target on your fence (with a special box pellet stopper). Although not as accurate as real firearms, all of the basics are the same, so it is great practice.

Another indoor training option that does not employ live rounds is to hang a target on the wall or a door. I clear my favorite pistol and remove all live ammo from the room. Next I insert a laser bullet, open the Pistol Training Declassified program and start running through the drills dry fire style. Be Creative and keep practicing!
